We conduct consumer and business-to-business research for a variety of European and Global clients.

Escalent takes your privacy very seriously and we are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use the information you give us.

We do not conduct research that knowingly involves Persons under 16, but any Persons under 16 completing surveys should not disclose any personal information without first getting the permission of a parent or a guardian.
Personal information provided to Escalent is confidential. Survey Information collected is combined with information gathered from other survey participants and shown in aggregate excluding personally identifiable information, unless otherwise evident within the survey. If we indicate that personal information may be included in the research findings, we ensure that the information is treated with the strictest of confidence. We will not mislead a participant regarding the nature of the research or how the information will be used. Please see the sections below titled “Will we ever share your data” and “How do we protect your personal information” for more information.
Research participation is voluntary. Participants may opt-out of current research by disregarding or declining the invitation to participate and are given the opportunity to be removed from future research conducted by Escalent. At a research participant’s request, we will correct, amend or delete incorrect personal information we have collected about them. Such access may be limited by Escalent if providing such access would violate another person’s rights.
Escalent holds individual or corporate memberships of the Market Research Society (the professional trade association of survey research companies in the UK), the British Healthcare Business Intelligence Associations, the European Pharmaceutical Market Research Association and the European Society of Opinion and Marketing Research (ESOMAR). Escalent may have personal email addresses in its email system or data files. Escalent uses email as a means of communicating to known clients and partner organisations. When we process your personal information on the basis of legitimate interests, we make sure to consider and balance any potential impact on you (both positive and negative), and your rights under data protection legislation. Our legitimate interests do not automatically override your interests – we will not use your personal information for activities where our interests are overridden by the impact on you (unless we have your consent or are otherwise required or permitted to by law).
We may use selected agents to process your information on our behalf, such as specialist fieldwork companies to recruit participants for research, or specialist data processing companies to aggregate and analyses survey data. Such third parties may be authorised by us to see and use your information but only to fulfil their contractual obligations to us and will not be permitted to use it for any other purpose. We retain full responsibility for how your personal information may be used by such agents.
Personal information may also be disclosed when the survey instrument clearly states that the information will be disclosed or, when a participant makes a request during the survey that can only be fulfilled by disclosing information from the survey. Escalent discloses personal data only to third parties who reasonably need to know such data only for the scope of the market research and not for any other purposes.
Escalent may also disclose an individual’s personally identifiable information if Escalent is required or permitted by law, national security or court orders to collect, use, and / or disclose such personal information; notice may not be required.
Escalent is committed to keeping personal data secure and will take all reasonable precautions to protect personal information from loss, misuse or alteration. This data is stored on our internal network servers that are protected by firewalls and other appropriate security mechanisms.
Only authorized Escalent employees, vendors, contractors or partners carrying out authorized business functions are allowed to access Escalent data or databases.
Vendors, contractors, or partners who have access to survey information in connection with providing services for Escalent are required, at a minimum, to sign a Confidentiality Agreement. The Confidentiality Agreement requires them to keep the information confidential; they are not permitted to use this information for any purpose other than to carry out the services they are performing for Escalent. Third parties processing personal information on our behalf are contractually required to agree and evidence compliance with the GDPR Principles.
Transfer of personal information between Escalent and its third parties is by secure FTP, encrypted email or encrypted hard/flash drives
Escalent employees are required to sign a Confidentiality Agreement in which they agree to keep all project and respondent personal information confidential. Employees who violate the Confidentiality Agreement are subject to disciplinary actions, including termination when appropriate.
We generally store and process your information within the European Economic Area (EEA).
Where we need to transfer your information outside of the European Economic Area we only do so to countries which have been determined by the European Commission to have an adequate level of data protection.
Our U.S. office regularly fulfils data processing technical support and complies with the EU – U.S. Privacy Shield Framework as set out by the U.S. Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use, and retention of personal information from European Union member countries. The length of time we hold your personal information varies depending upon the type of information and its use.
